Seeds and Trees is written by author Brandon Walden. The book was published in 2013 and has 20 pages. The author describes this book as his story. The children’s book is about the power of words, and is appropriate for ages 6-12.
Children will understand how words can help or hurt. The book is about a young prince who receives (kind words) green seeds and (hurtful words) dark seeds.
He goes out and plants each seed that he receives. Of course, the green seeds produce beautiful green trees with delicious fruit. The dark seeds grow dark trees with thorns and thistles.
The young prince is lucky to have a great friend. She visits him often. One day she brings a saw and other tools. She shows the young prince how to get rid of the dark trees, uprooting every part.
The book makes a good point that can be explained to children, about the power of our words. This is a good lesson.
The artwork is very magical and beautiful. Children will enjoy the story as much as I did.
