My Review

After reading Crazy For You (Book #3 in the Deep Haven Series), I was very excited to read this book. The Dahlquist family is still busy with their restaurant. This story features Nick Dahlquist, who doesn’t work in the restaurant business, but loves the outdoor life. He loves his team of dogs and racing them in dog-sledding. For the past two years he has been having online chats with a mystery woman. Little does he know that she’s moved to Deep Haven.

She goes to his home to meet him and show him her dog, but he thinks she’s a bill collector and dismisses her. Before she can tell him who she is, she’s not so sure she wants to be around him. But, Nick is worried about losing his home and business. He’s low on money and race sponsors.

The mystery woman is Jae Washington, who has arrived from Texas to take a job of rescue pilot with the Deep Haven team. She soon is introduced to the bitter cold and going on rescue missions with the entire team, who welcome her with open arms to the charming town.

Jae and Nick become close and are falling for each other, but she still hasn’t told Nick that she’s the woman he’s been chatting with online. When she finally tells him, he feels angry and that she has been laughing at him behind his back. It’s not until she gets lost in a failed rescue attempt, that Nick forgets his anger and goes on a dangerous mission to save her. With an entire church youth group and adult team lost in a severe snow storm, will the rescue team arrive in time? Will Nick and Jae ever get together? This Christian Romance is sweet and clean and the characters are flawed, but they let God change them into who He has planned and purposed them to be.
