“The day before Christmas is a very special day,
That never had its own name.
But that all changed when one special elf,
Rose to glory and fame.
Eve was an elf with such get up and go,
She worked hard and loved to play.
But the Head Elf ran Christmas with an iron fist,
And this was what he had to say…”

My Review
If anyone has Christmas Spirit, it should be the elves at the North Pole. In this delightful story book, the Head Elf has decided that to get everything done in time, he must squelch Christmas Spirit. He tells the elves that there is to be no fun, no singing, and that they must just work, work, work. Eve is a sweet little girl elf who is very upset about the new demands. She goes looking for Christmas Spirit, because she knows that it’s the most important thing. She finally finds it, hidden behind the Head Elf’s guards. When she releases the Christmas Spirit, it takes off and the joy is spreading around. But, what will happen when the mean elf finds out?
The gorgeous and whimsical illustrations are the star of this book. I really enjoyed the story and the rhyming that makes children perk up to listen.

This sounds like the perfect book to read to my niece and nephew! Even my own son could read this to them and they’d all enjoy it.
