My Review
Journey with Grace: Finding Freedom Through a Transformed Life has proven a inspiring read for me. This is a personal book and easy to read. Although Sarah Grace is a psychotherapist, this book is not written from a clinical approach, filled with terms to which we can’t relate.
The book is divided into chapters which can be read and studied alone. I like that approach, because when reading self-help books it can often just run together and the mind can get overwhelmed. The author has a theme for each chapter and they all follow a similar format.
I love that each chapter teaches and explains a topic that is important for mental health. At the end she gives a section called Gracelets. These are my favorite part, because the grace is explained here. This is where the reader finds the grace and ideas to use to make a practical difference in their life.
She also includes a section in each chapter called Your Ripple. This is also a wonderful idea. Your Ripple is described as when you enter the water, a ripple occurs on the water. If another person were to enter the water, their ripple would start. And, we should think about what can happen when the ripples bump into each other. In other words, how our life touches and connects with others is important.
The author’s goal is for us to transform our life in the areas that need freedom from things that keep us from being our true self. The author is a Christian and often speaks about her personal journey. I recommend this book for those who want to improve their life.
