The Bible talks about the sins of the father, but children do not suffer eternally for those sins. Many believe that the natural consequences of a father’s sin can cause suffering to their children. What do you believe?
In this suspenseful book, a young lady is taken captive by a grieving father who blames her for the murder of his daughter. Dennis had been planning to punish her for his daughter, Grace’s murder.
Because Kaely’s father had been a serial killer, she had changed her name to protect her reputation. Kaely was traveling to join her friend, Erin, at a movie production based on Erin’s book. Dennis kidnapped her and locked her in a basement room. Because Dennis had a very advanced brain tumor, he believed that Grace was telling him to kill Kaely.
To keep Kaely compliant he drugged her with LSD and sleeping medication, which he hid in her food. He was constantly tricking her and she was either hallucinating or sleeping in her small room. She worried what would happen to her unborn baby.
Dennis contacted Erin, Kaely’s husband Noah, and a policeman friend, and gave them an opportunity to rescue her. He gave a clue a day, but it would be only 6 six days before he would kill her.
This book was so nerve-wracking, but had a surprising end. This is one of the more true Christian books I’ve read. The characters spend a lot of time discussing trusting God and using Scripture. This is an easy read and I recommend it.
