Where Is My Smile by Natalie Reeves Billing & Hannah Jesse
8th – 24th Aug
Genre: Children’s Fiction
Publisher: Tiny Tree
Blurb
A beautifully illustrated picture book about mental health for young readers. Where Is My Smile? is the story of a little boy who can’t find his smile anywhere. He searches and searches, but it’s nowhere to be found. Where could his smile be?
This delightful picture book is perfect as a bedtime story, and to help little children understand that it’s okay to be sad sometimes, but we can always find our way through it.
Where Is My Smile? is the first in a new series of picture books from Natalie Reeves Billing focused on children’s mental health.
My Review
On a gloomy day a young boy is feeling the blues. He looks in the mirror and sees his sad face and asks himself, “Where has my smile gone?” He then notices each of his family members seem to have also lost their smiles. As the rain pour outside, he decides he must go looking for his smile.
He puts on his mother’s coat, hat, sunglasses, boots, and carries her bag. When the other members of his family see him, what do you think will happen? This book has a great ending and is charming all the way through. I love the cute illustrations, which add a lot to the tale.
