It’s so hard when you do something right, and then everyone seems to turn against you. Natalie had a privileged life, with wealthy parents and husband. When she discovered they were all involved in fraud, she testified against them so that she wouldn’t be also prosecuted.
Now, she was divorced and on her own with a baby coming soon. She was desparate, so when she was offered room and board to help plan a gala, she accepted. Moving into a country farmhouse with a group of adult orphans, who became a family, was just the thing she needed.
She felt safe and loved. The men and women there took her in and treated her like family. Even though neither one of them wanted to start a relationship, Reggie, the rodeo star, had to spend time with Natalie to plan the gala.
He didn’t have any wealth, but treated her very well and showed her care. Planning the event brought one problem after another, but the money was needed so that they could build a lodge. This was to start their business of a guest ranch, with plenty of horses.
Reggie’s investments were failing, so he had to trust that God can provide the funds so deparately needed. Can Natalie succeed with the gala? There is so much on the line.
I enjoyed reading this book, because it showed how God can gently bring us where we should be.
