Excerpt

“Hunter, help me. I’m going to fall. I can’t hold on much longer.” Her frantic voice reached up to him. He stopped short and realized a sheer drop-off was inches from his feet. Hunter peered through the snow and saw Hope hanging on to a decaying tree branch a few feet down.

If she fell…

To her right was a narrow ledge on the other side of the tree.

Time was up. He had no other choice. Hunter leaped toward the ledge and prayed he wouldn’t miss it. He landed hard and slammed to his knees on the ground. Ignoring the pain, all he could think about was Hope.

He grabbed her wrist. “I’ve got you. I won’t let you fall.”
