When I look for new children’s books, I love to find books that rhyme. Young children gain so much from rhymes. These tend to be the books that they want parents to read aloud over and over.
On An Animal Safari by Sian Moore is an adorable book for young children filled with rhymes. Sian Moore is also the illustrator of this little book. The artwork is truly beautiful! She uses mostly pastel colors and the characters are charming.

There is a softness and whimsy in the illustrations that little ones respond well to. This story features a cute little girl with strawberry blond hair who is embarking on an animal safari with her little puppy. They go from one group of animals to the next with energy and very little fear.
Reading this book makes you feel like you’re taking a visit to the zoo or going on a wild African adventure. The good thing for young children is that this isn’t a scary book at all. Children can even learn a lot about animals and the collective noun names, (for instance: a knot of toads and a journey of giraffes). I loved the book and the positive energy.
