Nighttime Fantasy by Suzanne M. Shields
About the Author:
Suzanne M. Shields is a mother of two boys and a grandmother of twins. She is a retired registered nurse with some experience in pediatrics. Her book, “Nighttime Fantasy,” is based on a poem she wrote in 1980, inspired by her finding that the nighttime monster fantasy was universal. After reading it to her own sons as well as neighborhood children who requested to hear it often, it became her dream to develop the poem into a book that others could learn from.
The colorful children’s book is an answer to all those scary monsters that are imagined at bedtime. The author originally wrote the poem for her children. It really helped them to see that the monsters weren’t real, after all. The poem was turned into a full picture book with lots of frightening monsters on every page. The child sees how his mom can comfort him from the scary monsters. It’s a great example of how a picture book can make a big difference in parenting.
