“So there’s no special guy in your life?” Adam asked.
“No. I don’t have time for dating. You?”
“Happily single.” With a miserable track record. He wasn’t about to reveal his baggage on this
pleasant stroll up the mountainside.
“Don’t we make a pair,” he eventually said.
She shrugged. “Guess we’re too career-minded.”
For once in his life, he didn’t like the notion of putting business first. Work had been a

They passed the first lookout and continued climbing. The incline became steep for a quarter

“Drink,” he said as he handed it over. He enjoyed the rush when their fingers brushed.
