Danny Mann Super Fan
Danny loves Chadmouth Town Football Club more than anything, but a run of defeats and terrible luck has left them bottom of the table and looking certain to be relegated with time running out.
But then, Danny and his best friend Nelson stumble across a bizarre pre-match ritual that seems to turn their luck around, and his beloved team starts winning again. Is it too little too late though, and can he keep doing everything right before each match, even when he starts finding more and more obstacles in his way and despite the relentless teasing from his classmates? It’s going to come down to the wire.
Does Danny have what it takes to save Chadmouth’s season?

My Review
Does your child love football (in the US, soccer)? If they play or love watching matches, this book is going to be one of their very favorites! Danny Mann Super Fan has all the action, adventure, and drama found in a football match. Danny is obsessed with his town’s team and is hoping that they can turn their season around.
Danny Mann lived with his mom, dad, and grandmom. Their family had always supported the lower level football team, the Chadmouth Crabs. Danny and his family loved to attend the home games, and had season tickets. His grandmother hadn’t been lately because she was in the hospital. Danny loved cheering for his team, even though they weren’t very good. Every non-uniform day at school he wore his Chadmouth shirt, even though many of the boys at school made fun of him.
Danny’s best friend was Nelson, who stood by him even with all the bullying from the kids who hated Chadmouth because it wasn’t one of the top teams. With a big game approaching, Danny and Nelson agreed to try their hand at doing a dance and chant that would bring their team good luck. They made up a dance, filled with things they remembered from camp. After they performed the dance, they went to Danny’s house to get ready for the game. They went with Danny’s dad to the game and amazingly, the Crabs won!
Danny was convinced that their ritual had brought the team good luck and that they must now do everything the same way for each upcoming game. Nelson wasn’t convinced, but went along with his best friend’s plan. The boys did everything the same for the next game, even wearing the same socks and walking the same path to the stadium. The team won again!
But the problem was that Nelson wouldn’t be able to attend the last game, because his sister was getting married that day. Danny was beside himself with worry! He believed that without he and Nelson fulfilling the rituals, the team would lose. He couldn’t even sleep because he was so distraught. Your children will want to finish the final chapters of this middle-school book and see what would happen to Danny and the Crabs.
