God tells us to endure and be faithful. Sad to say many have gone back into the world by giving up on Christianity because of difficulties and problems. Bad things will try our faith in God. Remember God is always in control and He allows things to happen for a reason.

This book is designed to encourage people that may be thinking about giving up when their faith in God is tried. In each chapter of the book it starts out with a pray, a scripture, humorous illustrations most of the time, then something is stated about faith. Please endure, be patient, and don’t give up hell is too hot and eternity too long. “When Your Faith is Tried, Don’t Give Up.”

About the Author

Rudolph (Rudy) Burdett Jr. is striving to bring change in presenting faith (gospel) to others. Faith is the only thing we have that the devil is striving to take. Faith is required in pleasing God. Rudy is a devoted, dedicated, committed member and a minister of the church of Christ.

He was able to start a congregation in North Carolina in 2002. He resigned in 2007 from preaching and teaching because of a medical condition that hinder him from functioning. Rudy feels that God called him to help people in preaching the faith and visiting others.

He feels helping the less fortunate is needed especially, feeding and clothing. Prayerfully, food and clothing distribution will be a great future endeavor to embark upon. In Matthew 26:11, Jesus said, “you always have the poor with you.”

GENRE:   Christian Romance

BLURB:

These ex-lovebirds are busy building a nest for one. But can she be convinced to make room for him, too?

Despite attending the same congregation and university, Ashe and Stephen’s circles had never seemed to cross.

One class project changed everything…for the better; until secrecy and youthful indiscretion pulled them apart.

Will an unexpectant reunion in their adult years allow Ashe and Stephen to rewrite a history riddled with regret and heartbreaking choices?

EXCERPT

She watched him visibly flinch before grinding his teeth, seemingly steeling himself against her onslaught.

She made a move to rise from the table.

“Now, Ashe,” he said, grasping her hand to stop her advancement. “We have to talk about this. If we’re going to work together you can’t just walk away again.”

“Me walk away? Again?” she hissed, looking up at her surroundings before calmly reclaiming her seat, glaring at him.

In as low a volume as she could muster she continued.

“You’re the one that walked away, Stephen. Well before I ever left.” And there it was; the quavering in her voice. The dreaded tightening of the throat that threatened to turn her words into the mewings of a lamb. But she couldn’t stop now. “And you didn’t feel the need to resolve things, then.” She wrenched her hand from his. “So if you have even an inkling of compassion reserved for me, don’t pretend to feel any obligation to patch things up, now.”

After managing to detangle her legs from the bench, she faced him. “As a matter of fact, the best thing you can do for me right now is leave me alone.”

She turned to stomp away, crashing into the muscled arm and shoulder of a man that’d been walking up to their table.

“Hey! Slow down there,” Luke grumbled good-naturedly as he steadied her with a gentle hand on her elbow.

Ashe swallowed, her eyes glistening even as her expression shifted from shock to embarrassment.

“Sorry,” she said quickly as she darted around him to continue her escape toward the house in search of a bathroom.

Stephen stood to follow her; but Luke smoothly slid his body to block his path.

“I’m telling you, Man. Whatever it is, it’s best to let it go for now.”

MY REVIEW

I love Contemporary Christian Romances, especially if they are new or current. The current events and relatable products makes it easier to follow the story line. I love how the Tiny House movement was the backdrop for this book. Tiny Homes are so trendy and I, like many of you, would love to have one of these.

This book is well written and I was able to jump right in and know what was going on. Some books take me the first third of the book before I understand who the characters are. I really liked the characters Ashe and Stephen. They seem really down to earth and are trying to make sure they follow their Christian convictions now that they’re older and wiser.

I loved how they used accountability with their friends to keep their relationship on the right level. Although they had made mistakes in their past, they worked hard to make things right. Their Christian friends helped them, but would his parents accept that his girl-friend was an African American?

Author Interview

I love Christian Romance Books: Have You Got Another Book Planned? Or anything from your backlist you’d like to share?

I’ve always felt pretty blessed upon finding a good romance novel with Christian themes and/or characters. It’s nice to read a novel that aligns with my faith, and offers all of the warm and fun feelings I think we all expect from those mini-vacations. It’s hard to find that combination in Contemporary romances. It can also be difficult to find romances featuring female main characters and male main characters who are over forty. Not to mention leads who are curvy and involved in interracial relationships. So I started the journey in 2021 to contribute to that very specific space. I’ve since developed two series.

“The Bonfire Circle” series is a three-book series featuring my debut novel, “Whatever It Takes”. This book was written over several months before I decided to take the plunge and share it with the world. My pleasure in learning that there were readers with whom the book resonated prompted me to continue the series by building off of the book’s closing scene.

My latest series is titled “The Sisterhood of the Tiny House Revolution”, and it follows the overlapping stories of four friends falling in love with the men who are helping them build their dream tiny homes. “For Better & For Worse,” is the series’ third novel and it will be released on June 30th! The final installment of the series is underway, and it will detail the romance of the most adventurous member of the ladies’ group. I’m greatly looking forward to completing the series. But even more than that, with each book I get the chance to know all of these beautiful characters that much more.

My Review

Lucas Twiggs was a little boy with all the bad luck a child could have. When he turned three everything started going wrong for him. He got all the bird poo that fell on him. He always was hit by a wayward drone or a spray of water. He got so tired of it, so his mum tried to help him. She found his dad’s lucky underpants. He wore them and all of the sudden his luck turned around. He was so happy, especially when math class was cancelled. But what was going to happen to his dad, who needed his lucky pants when his favorite football team played?

Written by award-winning historical author Heather Day Gilbert and fresh voice Jen Cudmore, two love stories entwine in this sweeping Viking-era romance, the first novel in the Tavland Vikings series.

MY REVIEW

I love Historical Fiction, but have never been a fan of Viking tales. I tried to start reading the book with an open mind. The beginning of the book was so filled with Viking names and descriptions of their surroundings, that I got bogged down. As the story developed and the plot became obvious I found the book to be very interesting.

We have a story in which one of the women has had her heart broken because her first arranged marriage didn’t work out. She was married to a man who could provide a comfortable home, but no love. She was abused physically and mentally and her husband cheated on her openly.

She longed for her true love, but dared not act on the feelings because of her Christian faith and the love for her children. Her true love longed for her, but knew that she belonged to someone else. He still tried to help her from afar.

The other woman was a striking Viking woman who was good at self-defense. She had been a slave and wanted desperately to be free. When she does earn her freedom, the man who freed her asked her to work undercover as a slave. Although she was paid well to do this, it was terribly hard on her heart.

I enjoyed the book as the relationships with God and with others was beautifully described. This emotional read will be most loved by those who enjoy reading about Vikings, but it’s a great read for everyone else, too.

My Review

This is a lovely little book written for children. The illustrations are whimsical and children will enjoy learning how the father and daughter walk to school. I love how they showed the various hats and gear that can be needed when the weather calls for it.

Finally, the little girl asked her father “Why do we walk? The author gives a great answer…..what would you say?

Author Bio – Siena is a real Canadian kid who likes making up stories with her father. Both of whom choose to create these books somewhat anonymously.
