My Review:
You’ll find that this is a book about Clara and her step-sister Lois. Lois has been dating Rory and Clara’s upset that she still feels that she’s in love with Rory. While she works hard to hide these feelings, she learns that Lois will propose to Rory. Their mother Irene is an alcoholic so the family is intentional in trying to help her fight this, even though she’s in denial.
Clara is frightened one night when a disguised person breaks into the house. Odd things are left on the kitchen table. The relationships between the mother, step-mother, step-sister, and grandmother are all the focus of this interesting second book in the series.
Rating of PG 14 because of language on the first few pages.
