One Alpen Day Book Amplifier Tour

Loss, distance, and unexpected connection quietly shape the story told in One Alpen Day. Michele Davenport-Dutton frames a narrative where private grief and public pressure collide, allowing two people from very different worlds to cross paths at a moment when neither is certain what comes next.

Reeling from a failed marriage and the emotional toll of pregnancy loss, Angela Sutton steps away from her former life and begins working with her aunt in the family bakery. The rhythm of daily work offers comfort, but not fulfillment. Her routine is disrupted when Mason Glade, a prominent Hollywood actor, enters her life.

Mason’s fame offers little protection from personal turmoil. His estranged wife, Camila, struggles with alcoholism, and the public nature of her behavior has made life difficult for their two young children. When Camila enters rehab, Mason takes his children and their nanny away, hoping to provide them with calm and safety. As Angela becomes part of their daily lives, Mason observes her natural bond with his children and finds himself drawn to her kindness and steadiness. With unresolved marital ties and emotional wounds still fresh, both must weigh desire against responsibility.

MY REVIEW

What can happen when two with broken hearts end up in a charming village in Germany? You can never tell, but this story will get your thoughts headed towards romance.

Angela had two devasting miscarriages while married in the US. Her cruel husband left her because she couldn’t provide him with an heir. She found out that it’s all he ever wanted from her.

Glade was a handsome actor with two lovely children and an alcoholic wife. She was only interested in partying and spent almost no time with the family. This wasn’t her first stay in rehab, but Glade hoped that it would work for her this time.

In the meantime he took the children on vacation and decided to stay in this small village after meeting the beautiful Angela. She and Glade spent a lot of time together, finally falling in love.

After his wife left rehab early, Glade had to decide whether or not to give her a second chance. He didn’t want to leave Angela, but did. When Glade returned to the states, Angela soon found out that she was pregnant.

She didn’t contact Glade with the news, because he was starting over with his wife. Glade’s wife decided to divorce him after meeting a new man in rehab. Glade wanted to see Angela right away. Had she miscarried a third time? Will Glade renew his love affair with Angela?

There’s much to find out when you read this novel, One Alpen Day.

(I would give this a rating of PG-13).
